Fujifilm Finepix S3 Pro
The Fujifilm Finepix S3 Pro (short: Fuji S3 or S3 Pro ) is a digital SLR camera manufactured by Fujifilm . It appeared in 2005 as the successor to the S2 Pro and is also based on the polycarbonate housing of the Nikon F80 with a Nikon F lens connection .
Technical specifications and innovations
The exterior of the S3 Pro is largely the same as its predecessor and is compatible with a number of Nikon accessories . It is also operated with Mignon batteries or AA rechargeable batteries .
For the first time, the camera uses a super CCD sensor of the type SR II with 6.17 million normal "S-pixels" and just as many less light-sensitive "R-pixels" ( interpolated to 12.3 million pixels inside the camera ). This sensor technology allows a quadrupled dynamic range to be mapped.
The S3's image sensor has an increased light sensitivity of up to ISO 1600 and an improved noise behavior .
In addition to individual setting options, two simulation modes are available for automatic color matching to Fujichrome films .
The S3 has a second slot for memory cards in which, in addition to a CompactFlash II or Microdrive card , an xD Picture Card can also be used.
A new addition to the Pro series from Fuji for the S3 is a D- TTL open-aperture exposure metering system for flash control .
There are two external interfaces for data transfer: a FireWire (IEEE 1394) and a USB 2.0 connection.
As an option, the internal buffer (buffer) could be doubled with an additional 256 MB in order to increase the frame rate for series picture recordings .
successor
The successor to the S3 has been the Fujifilm Finepix S5 Pro since 2007 .
