Furmaniwka ( Ukrainian Фурманівка ; Russian Фурмановка Furmanowka , Romanian Furmanca ) is a village in Budschak in southwestern Ukraine with about 1400 inhabitants (2001).
Founded in 1760 and known until 1940 under the name Orman (ukr. Орман ), the village on Lake Kytaj (ukr. Китай (озеро)) is the only town in the district council of the same name in the northwest of Kilija district in Odessa Oblast .
The district center of Kilija is 24 km south and the Oblast center Odessa is about 190 km northeast of the village.
Personalities
- Semjon Konstantinowitsch Tymoshenko (1895–1970), Marshal of the Soviet Union and Soviet Defense Minister , was born in the village.
