Futura (jazz label)

Futura is a French jazz label founded by Gérard Terronès († 2017) in the early 1970s . In 1971 it advertised its LPs from Dizzy Reece , Mal Waldron , Art Taylor , John Surman and Anthony Braxton on the Billboard as the First French label for underground . Further publications were productions by Michel Portal , Siegfried Kessler , Georges Arvanitas , Mal Waldron, François Tusques , Burton Greene , Joachim Kühn , Steve Lacy , Jaki Byard , Sahib Shihab , Pierre Favre , Sonny Gray , Dexter Gordon , Raymond Boni , Bernard Vitet and Hal Singer , mostly concert recordings. The sub-label Marge was founded in the mid-1970s , on which recordings by David Murray , Saheb Sarbib , Willem Breuker , Dave Burrell , John Tchicai , Archie Shepp , Bernard Lubat / Hervé Bourde , Stu Martin , Rob Brown , Sophia Domancich , Billy, among others Harper , Abbey Lincoln , Frank Lowe , Sunny Murray , Sonny Sharrock and Evan Parker appeared. In the 1980s, the other sub-labels Blue Marge, Hôte Marge, Impro and Jazz Unité were formed.
