Gérard Herter

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gérard Herter (actually Gerhard Haertter ; born April 12, 1920 in Stuttgart ; † February 6, 2007 in Munich ) was a German actor .

Herter had been active on the stage and began a film career in 1959, which lasted until 1972 and which took place almost exclusively in Italy. The angular and stately-looking Herter was suitable for depicting German or Austrian officers and nobles. He was only rarely able to escape this role cliché in his genre films. As a result, he was often seen in war and adventure films as well as spaghetti westerns. In total, he played in over two dozen feature films and a few television series.

Nothing is known about his life and activities after 1972, except that he died in Munich in 2007 at the age of 86.
