Günter Baumann (racing driver)
Günter Baumann (born December 6, 1932 in Breitungen / Werra ) is a former German enduro athlete .
The trained industrial clerk and automotive foreman joined the National People's Army in 1955 . In 1957 he began his motorsport career and was GDR champion in the 350 cm³ class in 1961 and 1963 . In 1961 and 1962 he started at the Six Days for the first time . Together with Peter Uhlig , Hans Weber , Horst Lohr , Bernd Uhlmann and Werner Salevsky , he won the International Six Days for the GDR for the first time in 1963 in Spindlermühle, Czechoslovakia . In 1964 Baumann was able to repeat the success at the Six Days in Erfurt .
