Horst Lohr

Horst Lohr (born February 26, 1938 in Hennersdorf ) is a former German enduro athlete .

The trained fitter initially tuned engines and built off-road machines for his club mates at MC Zschopau . In 1958 he began his active driving career and in 1961 became a works driver for the VEB motorcycle factory in Zschopau . At the 35th International Six Day Race in 1960 he was part of the GDR Trophy team and won a gold medal. Together with Günter Baumann , Peter Uhlig , Hans Weber , Bernd Uhlmann and Werner Salevsky , he won the International Six Days for the GDR for the first time in 1963 in the Czechoslovakian town of Spindlermühle , which was then regarded as the unofficial world championship. In 1964 in Erfurt , 1965 on the Isle of Man and 1966 in Villingsberg , Lohr was able to repeat this victory with the GDR team.
