history

Covered wooden bridge over the Zschopau

Hennersdorf was settled after 1150 by the Lords of Schellenberg. Hennersdorfs was first mentioned in a document in 1349/50 as Heinrichsdorf in the feudal book of Friedrich des Strengen , Margrave of Meißen . The place belonged to the office Schellenberg , which was renamed in 1573 in office Augustusburg .

In the following centuries, not only farmers settled at the Zschopau, it also served as a drive for many plants (grinding mill, bone pounder, wood-spool turnery, sawmill , etc.). At the beginning of the 20th century there was a stocking factory that offered 50 jobs.

In the center of the village is the schoolhouse with a bell tower built by Christian Friedrich Uhlig in 1838 . The old school is still around 200 m away.

In 1840 Uhlig also built the covered wooden bridge over the Zschopau river. It is a historically very valuable monument in the history of traffic and is known far beyond the local borders. In 1866, Hennersdorf received a railway connection that still exists today.

The sculptor Erik Neukirchner set up his workshop in Hennersdorf in 2013.
