Günter Horn (Author)

Günter Horn (born May 5, 1925 in Merseburg ; † November 5, 2011 ibid) was a German author and historian specializing in social security , miners and mining .

Life

In 1943, after completing his apprenticeship at the agricultural trade association for the province of Saxony in Merseburg, Günter Horn was called up for labor service and then for the armed forces. In December 1946 after the end of his US captivity, he returned and worked in the pension department of the Social Insurance Institution of Saxony-Anhalt in Merseburg, Halle (Saale) and Magdeburg . Horn later switched to the pension department of the administration of the social insurance of the district and the district in Merseburg and Halle.

Since the 1950s, Horn has also dealt specifically with mining pension law. From 1971 he taught apprentices and skilled workers in this field. In 1990 he was employed by the head office of the joint social security agency as state commissioner for the pension insurance in Saxony-Anhalt . In autumn 1990 he worked on behalf of the government representative of the State of Saxony-Anhalt as the construction officer of the State Insurance Institute Saxony-Anhalt.

Günter Horn was regarded as an outstanding specialist in pension insurance law and social insurance, especially on the circumstances in the GDR . He published several non-fiction books.
