Günter Kämmler

Günter Kämmler (born October 23, 1926 in Dittmannsdorf , Waldenburg district , Lower Silesia province ) is a former German diplomat . He was head of the GDR Chamber of Commerce in Austria .

Life

Before 1966, Kämmler worked as a specialist consultant and from 1966 as director general in the Ministry for Foreign Trade and Internal German Trade and from 1967 in the Ministry for Foreign Trade of the GDR. From 1969 to 1973 he headed the GDR trade agency , first as legation counselor , then as extraordinary envoy and plenipotentiary minister, and finally, as ad interim agent, the GDR embassy in Vienna . From 1973 to 1975 he was then deputy general director, from 1975 to 1986 general director of the foreign trade company Holz und Papier-Export-Import, Berlin.

Kämmler was a member of the SED .
