Alberto Maria Careggio (born November 7, 1937 in Mazzè ) is an Italian clergyman and emeritus bishop of Ventimiglia-San Remo .

Life

Alberto Maria Careggio was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Aosta on June 26, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Chiavari on February 4, 1995 . The Archbishop of Ancona-Osimo , Dionigi Tettamanzi , donated him episcopal ordination on September 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Daniele Ferrari , former bishop of Chiavari, and Giuseppe Anfossi , bishop of Aosta .

As a motto he chose Sub tuum praesidium . On March 20, 2004, he was appointed Bishop of Ventimiglia-San Remo , and on May 9 of the same year he was appointed to the office.

On January 25, 2014, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
