Günter Riße (* 1954 in Niederense ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian , professor at the Philosophical-Theological University of Vallendar , head of the Archbishop's Diaconal Institute in Cologne and a deacon .

Life and education

Günter Riße was born in 1954 in Niederense in today's Soest district. He graduated from the Clemens Hofbauer College in Bad Driburg in 1978. From 1978 to 1984 he studied Catholic theology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and graduated in 1984 with a degree in theology .

Günter Riße is married and has four children.

Academic and professional career

From 1984 to 1993 Günter Riße was a research assistant at the seminar for fundamental theology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn.
