Günter Schwanhäusser
Günter Schwanhäußer (born May 31, 1928 - September 12, 2014 ) was a German entrepreneur. He is considered the inventor of the highlighter .
Life
Schwanhäußer was a trained farmer and joined the family company Schwan-Stabilo in Nuremberg in 1950 . In 1969, he and his cousin Horst Schwanhäußer (1931–2002) took over the management of the company in the fourth generation. He was responsible for the “Writing Instruments” division, which he managed until 1994. In 1971, Schwanhäußer invented the “Stabilo Boss” highlighter, a thick pen with luminous paint for marking texts. In 2003 he left the company.
