Günter Spitzing

Günter Spitzing (born May 19, 1931 in Bamberg ) is a German writer . He has published books focusing on photography and film in practice and psychology, interreligious issues, Indonesian, Indian and Greek culture.

Career

After a humanistic high school he sat as a freelancer by. He then studied Indonesian language and culture , as well as religious studies and ethnology at the University of Hamburg . He completed his studies in 1989 with a master's thesis . Günter Spitzing worked as a lecturer at the University of Hamburg and at the VHS Hamburg Ost. He went on study trips to Indonesia, India and Greece .

Between 1956 and 1965 Günter Spitzing was involved in public relations in an industrial company . He gave photo lectures, gave courses in clubs and in front of the specialist trade. From 1965 he went freelance as a writer. In the 1960s he was the editor of a diving magazine. Spitzing published 70 books. Translations into Dutch , English , Italian , French , Spanish , Portuguese , Swedish , Polish , Czech and Greek are available. The first paperback series for photo and film information foto that he initiated proved to be a success . He also wrote the first children's photo book, the first practical comic (enlargement practice), and the first German-language book on photo psychology. Since 1981 books on South, South East Asian and Greek cultures and religions have been added.

In 1992 he participated in the founding and until 2010 in the management of an association that set up a children's village with schools in southern India and took care of the education of indigenous people. In 2011 he participated in the founding of Zukunft Irular eV The organization actively supports the survival of Irular, an Adivasi group in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu .

Spitzing lives in Hamburg .
