Günter W. Hager

Günter Walter Hager (born August 29, 1955 in Wels in Upper Austria ) is an Austrian cook and book author. Hager achieved notoriety above all as the first award-winning chef in Linz .

Career

Hager spent his childhood in Viechtwang near Scharnstein in the Almtal. After primary and secondary school, Günter Hager completed an apprenticeship in cooking. This was followed by an excursion as a state ski instructor in Hinterstoder / Upper Austria. After various domestic and foreign positions as a chef, Hager set up his own restaurant Allegro in 1982. He was the first gastronomic company in Linz to cook two Gault-Millau . In 1990 Hager opened a restaurant in Linz and in 1996 a microbrewery, which had 56 employees as of 2017 .

Career history

During his time as a chef, Günter Hager was among other things at the Opera Ball at the Holiday Inn in Beijing , China , at the Austria Evening of the Vienna Philharmonic in Hong Kong , the Austria Reception of the Vienna Philharmonic in Toronto , Canada and at the state reception of American President Jimmy Carter in the hotel Dürnstein Castle, Wachau (1979).

During his time as an active chef, Günter Hager's first book entitled Cold Kitchen was published . In October 2016, Hager published Fucking Gastro . Part II, Fucking Gastro Reloaded , was released in November 2017 .
