Günther Jaenicke

Günther Jaenicke (born January 5, 1914 in Halle (Saale) ; † January 2, 2008 ) was a German legal scholar and international lawyer .

Life

Jaenicke studied law and was established in 1940 at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg with the work "The concept of discrimination in modern international law" to Dr. iur. PhD . From 1959 to 1982 he was full professor for public law including international law and European law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .

Jaenicke was a scientific member of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law and a member of the German Society for International Law. He was honorary chairman of the German Association for International Law. For his services to international law he was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

Since 1932 he was a member of the Corps Borussia Halle .
