Günther Penzoldt
Günther Penzoldt (born July 31, 1923 in Munich ; † January 6, 1997 there ) was a German dramaturge , theater director and theater director.
Life
Günther Penzoldt was born in 1923 as the son of the writer and artist Ernst Penzoldt and his wife Friederike. After studying and doing his doctorate in Munich, he was dramaturge under Gustaf Gründgens at the Städtische Bühnen Düsseldorf from 1952 . In 1955 he became chief dramaturge at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. In 1968 he was appointed artistic director of the Baden-Baden Municipal Theater . From 1976 to 1980 Penzoldt was director of the Saarland State Theater . In 1982 he became director of the Wolfsburg Theater , where he worked until his retirement in 1991.
