Günther Serres

Gunther Serres (* 18th June 1910 in Krefeld , † 26 December 1981 in Roth an der Our ) was a German politician of the CDU .

He was a member of the German Bundestag from its first election in 1949 to 1969. As a directly elected member of parliament, he represented the Krefeld constituency in parliament. He was chairman of the Foreign Trade Committee (1957–1965) and the Advisory Council for Trade Policy Agreements (1953–1965) of the Bundestag.

Serres was also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe , where he headed the Committee on Economy and Development in 1968/69. In 1961 he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Portuguese Order for Services to Agriculture and Commerce .
