Günzkofen was a chairman in the Mamming Office , Landgericht Dingolfing in Lower Bavaria , which existed from the 14th century to the 16th century. In the 16th century the merger with the chairman of Frichlkofen to the chairman of Günz and Fruchtchlkofen took place . Günzkofen was named after the church village of Untergünzkofen and the hamlet of Obergünzkofen, a few 100 meters up the valley in the Kaltenbachtal . The hamlet of Anterskofen (1,600 meters downstream from Untergünzkofen) and the wasteland of Gschaid (around one kilometer above Obergünzkofen and 300 meters above the Kaltenbach source) also belonged to the chairmanship . The chairmanship thus covered practically the entire Kaltenbachtal over a length of almost four kilometers, almost to the confluence of the Kaltenbach and the Griesbach to the Mamminger Bach, which flows into the Isar .

The area of the former chairman of Günzkofen came to Griesbach when the community was formed in 1818 , which was incorporated into Reisbach on January 1, 1972 . According to house statistics around 1800, the chairmanship had 17 houses and the same number of hearths . At the last census on May 25, 1987, the four towns of the previous chairmanship had a total of 35 buildings with living space and a population of 132.

The accumulation of place names with the ending -kofen is noticeable not only in the previous chairmanship, but also in the surrounding area, e.g. B. Frichlkofen and Hackerskofen . These -kofen sites were later established as the -ing sites.
