The gmina wiejska Głowno is an independent rural municipality in Poland in the powiat Zgierz in the Łódź voivodeship . Its seat is in the city of Głowno . The rural community, to which the city of Głowno itself does not belong, has an area of 104.8 km², on which (as of June 30, 2019) 4808 people live.
geography
The rural municipality is located in the north of the voivodeship and includes the city of Głowno in the west, north and east. 82% of the municipal area is used for agriculture, 11% is covered with forest.
history
Until 1953 the rural community was called Gmina Lubianków , 1953–1954 Gmina Antoniew . From 1975 to 1998 the rural community belonged to the Łódź Voivodeship .
