The GFC Düren 09 was a German sports club founded in 1909 as Gürzenicher FC Düren 1909 eV from the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Düren from the North Eifel with around 600 members. The club had football , table tennis , volleyball and recreational sports departments.
history
The first men's football team played between 2001 and 2007 in the Oberliga Nordrhein , then until the end of the 2009/10 season in the Mittelrheinliga . In January 2010 the association had to file for bankruptcy. She played her home games on the Papiermühle sports facility, and later on the Westkampfbahn . A merger with SG Düren 99 has been sought since February 2011 , which took place on April 1, 2011. The name of the newly formed club is Sportgemeinschaft Gürzenicher-Fußballclub Düren 1899 . Its football department joined 1. FC Düren on June 15, 2018 .

Table tennis
The first of a total of five men's teams plays in the 2012/13 season after a two-year absence again in the top division of Düren, the district league . Four youth teams also take part in the game.
volleyball
Since it was founded in 2003, the volleyball department has had two national beach volleyball players: Susanne Lahme and Danja Müsch , who together represented Germany at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and were able to achieve 9th place there. Lahme / Müsch achieved 1st place (2005), 2nd place (2002), 3rd place (2003) and 4th place (2004) for the club at the German championships .
