The GISA GmbH is a full-service IT and certified cloud service providers . The company offers IT solutions from consulting, development and implementation to the outsourcing of complete business processes and IT infrastructures. GISA employs more than 800 people at six locations and offices in Germany.
history
GISA had its origins in Mitteldeutsche Energieversorgung AG (MEAG), together with Stadtwerke Halle GmbH, Erdgasversorgung Westsachsen (EWS) and Gasversorgung Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH (GSA). These regional energy supply companies founded their IT departments in 1993 as an independent company. So in October 1993 the Society for Organization and Information Processing Sachsen-Anhalt mbH, GISA for short, with around 70 employees and headquarters in Halle (Saale) was created.
In 1999 GISA took over ICS adminservice GmbH in Leuna , a specialist in commercial services, as a 100% subsidiary. In 2001 the Society for Organization and Information Processing Sachsen-Anhalt mbH was renamed GISA GmbH. In 2004 locations were opened in Cottbus , Markkleeberg and Chemnitz as well as a representative office in Berlin . In 2014, the IT full-service provider in the SAP environment, Itelligence AG, became the new majority shareholder in GISA with 51%. In 2016, the nationwide presence was expanded with offices in Dortmund . However, these offices were closed again in 2020. In 2018 GISA took over the majority in QUANTIC Digital GmbH, a management consultancy for digitization. In 2014 GISA opened a new location in Berlin.

The shareholders of GISA-GmbH are itelligence AG with 51% of the shares, Kommunalwirtschaft Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH with 25.1% of the shares and Envia Mitteldeutsche Energie with 23.9% of the shares.

Certifications and partnerships
An integrated management system covers all operating processes with regard to the high requirements of national and international standards. The prerequisite and evidence for this are certifications by the Federal Office for Information Security and TÜV Nord . The former certifies the fulfillment of the ISO 27001 standard on the basis of the IT-Grundschutz and includes IT components for the operation of self-used applications as well as applications made available to customers. This makes GISA one of the first BSI-compliant companies in Germany. The TÜV certifies compliance with the DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO 27001 and DIN EN ISO 20000-1 standards.
One of the main partners of GISA is SAP AG . Other partners include the Microsoft Corporation , Wilken GmbH, Robotron database software GmbH and MACH AG.
