LHS 292 is a red dwarf in the constellation Sextant . With an apparent brightness of 8.9 mag, it is far too faint to be seen with the naked eye. At 14.8 light years, the star is relatively close to our sun. He is a UV Ceti star , i.e. H. it can suddenly gain luminosity for a short time .
LHS 292 has the space velocity components [U, V, W] = [28, -16, -14] km / s.
