Grand Prix de Rennes

The Grand Prix Cycliste de la Ville de Rennes , usually referred to as the Grand Prix de Rennes for short , is a former French cycling race .

The one-day race , which usually had its date at the beginning of April and took place around the French city of Rennes , was first held in 1979. Since the introduction of the UCI Europe Tour in the 2005 season, the race has been part of this racing series and classified in category 1.1. The Grand Prix de Rennes was also part of the Coupe de France , a racing series of French one-day races from 1992 to 2008 . The 2009 event was canceled due to a lack of financial support from the city of Rennes. The record winner is Nicolas Jalabert , who won the race twice.
