G Herbo
G Herbo (born October 8, 1995 in Chicago ; real name Herbert Randall Wright ), also known as Lil Herb , is an American drill rapper.
biography
Herbert Wright comes from a problem area in the south of Chicago and tried to escape the gang violence with rap music. In 2013 he first attracted attention as Lil Herb on the mixtape Free Crack by Lil Bibby. The following year, he dedicated his first own mixtape, Welcome to Fazoland , to his slain friend Fazo. Further mix tapes and collaborations with well-known rappers such as Common and Earl Sweatshirt followed . Then he deleted the "little" (lil = little) from his name, renamed himself G Herbo and signed a record deal with the Cinematic Music Group of Joey Badass . In 2015 the mixtape Ballin 'like I'm Kobe was released there . In 2016 he was added to the annual newcomer list by XXL magazine.
Further publications followed, including two EPs in preparation for his debut album. Humble Beast was released in September 2017 and immediately made it to number 21 on the US album charts . Participants included Lil Bibby, Lil Uzi Vert , and Lil Yachty . He got other prominent supporters such as Young Thug and 21 Savage through his collaboration with producer Southside on his next album Swervo , which was released less than a year later and topped the debut album in the charts again. Another year later, the album Still Swervin ' could not confirm the success and missed the Top 40.
G Herbo made a big step forward in 2020 with the album PTSD . The title song with the late rapper Juice Wrld became his first hit in the single charts and was awarded gold . The album made it into the top 10 of the official and # 4 of the R&B / Hip-Hop charts.
