Gabriel Arcanjo Ferreira da Costa (born December 11, 1954 in Príncipe ) is a politician from São Tomé and Príncipe .

biography

Costa is a member of the Movimento Democrático das Forças da Mudança-Partido Liberal (MDFM-PL).

From 2000 to 2002 he was his country's ambassador to Portugal . In the parliamentary elections in March 2002, the party alliance Ué Kédadji achieved 16.2% of the vote and 8 of the 55 seats in parliament, while the MDFM-PL received 23 seats and the former unity party MLSTP-PSD was again the strongest party with 24 seats. On March 26, 2002, he succeeded Evaristo Carvalho as Prime Minister of a coalition government with the Movimento de Libertação de São Tomé e Príncipe (MLSTP-PSD). He held this office until his dismissal by President Fradique de Menezes on October 7, 2002.

On December 12, 2012, he was again Prime Minister, succeeding Patrice Trovoada .
