Tomé Vera Cruz

Tomé Vera Cruz (* 1953 ) is a politician from São Tomé and Príncipe . He is General Secretary of the Movimento Democrático das Forças da Mudança - Partido da Convergência Democrática (MDFM-PCD) coalition and was Prime Minister in the Vera Cruz cabinet from April 2006 to February 2008 , as well as Minister for Social Communication and Regional Integration.

As the successor to Maria do Carmo Silveira , Vera Cruz had been Prime Minister of the island state from April 21, 2006 until he resigned from the post of Prime Minister after his party's defeat in parliament in a vote on the 2008 budget .

He was then followed on February 14, 2008 by Patrice Trovoada , chairman of the Acção Democrática Independente (ADI), after the MDFM-PCD and Trovoada's party ADI established an alliance and a " power-sharing pact" decided.
