Gabriel Cyphre
Gabriel Cyphre (real name Gabriele Argento ; born May 15, 1990 in Italy ) is an Italian singer . He is known for his androgynous demeanor and his activity on various social networks. He himself describes Gabriel Cyphre as a character that he created to express himself musically. The theme of duality and the split personality is often reflected in his music.
Music career
2009–2013: Master of Madness
As early as 2009, Cyphre published its own songs on the video platform YouTube and on Myspace , including songs that were later published on Extended Plays. His first commercial release was the single Beauty Criminal and shortly thereafter his first EP Mr Dangerous followed . In the following years he published more of his own songs on the Internet and covered songs by artists who inspired him, including Kerlis Zero Gravity and Marilyn Manson's The Nobodies . It also announced its first studio album that would stand out from its original style. The single, Borderline , was released on June 8, 2012 and deals thematically with the borderline personality disorder and the process of finding one's own identity . An accompanying music video was released in September of the same year. His first album, Master of Madness , was released on January 3, 2013 . It contained a total of 16 songs, two of which have already been published; the song Beauty Victim is a new recording of the song Beauty Criminal , which was released in 2011. The song Dancing With My Heart was also released in 2011 on the EP Mr Dangerous . A music video for the song I'm a Big Sick Star was released shortly after the album.
In May 2013 he released the single Children of Madness and an accompanying lyric video. The song should be a thank you for the fans, whom he calls his "Children of Madness" (Eng. Children of madness). He also announced that his next album would be darker and focus more on screaming elements. To show his fans the new style, he released another single in October 2013 entitled The Slender Man Song , which thematically deals with the internet phenomenon Slender Man and continues the myth by claiming that Slender Man had his son and his Lost face in a fire and is now in the woods looking for his son.
2014–2015: Rainbow On the Fallen Skylands
His second studio album, Rainbow On the Fallen Skylands , came out on March 27th . The title is inspired by a world without bad things, without money, without wars and represents a kind of paradise. Cyphre's statement with the album is supposed to bring all people together and thus depict all the colors of the rainbow. Cyphre himself described the album as metalcore - Gothic - and partly dubstep music. On the same day, his music video for the song Deliver Me From Pain was released . In March 2014, he opened his own online merchandise shop, selling t-shirts and other clothing items that were designed and designed by himself.
2016: Creepypasta
His third album, Creepypasta, What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Wanna Die , or just Creepypasta for short , is announced for June 3, 2016 . The title stands for the so-called creepypastas , horror and scary stories that are spread over the Internet. The songs include well-known characters from this universe, such as Slender Man , Jeff the Killer and Laughing Jack. Describing the album's genres as metal , rock , orchestral , acoustic, and Celtic music , Cyphre claims that the songs were mostly recorded in an abandoned house and one in the middle of the night in the woods. The CD version of the album is also accompanied by an 8-bit style video game called The White Ender Curse , which was created with the RPG Maker .
2017-today: Memento Mori
In January 2017 the single Death is not an Escape was released with an accompanying music video. The song was inspired by the video game Dead by Daylight and the music video features several scenes from the game. In April of the same year, the single Lightless Glory followed , which was inspired by the video game Outlast 2 ; the accompanying music video also contains scenes from the game. Some quotations from the Bible were used in the lyrics. In June 2017 the single Of Flesh and Agony followed , which was also accompanied by a music video. The song is inspired by the video game Agony . On September 3, 2017 the single In the Shadow of War was released , which is a tribute to Tolkien's world "Middle-earth". The last three singles are part of Cyphre's fourth studio album Memento Mori , which will be released on May 23, 2018.
style
Cyphre writes and produces its own songs, combining electronic , dance and rock music . Some of his songs also contain screamo elements. In terms of content, it often revolves around his "own madness , his crazy perception of life and all the emotions". In an October 2009 radio interview, Cyphre named artists who inspire him and his music, including David Bowie , Marilyn Manson , Alice Cooper, and Cradle of Filth .
