Gail B. Kirkpatrick

Gail B. Kirkpatrick (* 1952 in Princeton , New Jersey ) is an American-German curator and museum director.

life and work

Gail B. Kirkpatrick grew up in Princeton. After studying at Wells College in New York , she moved to the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster and graduated in 1986 with a doctorate on dance theater and the visual arts after 1945 . In addition to working as a research assistant at the Rheinisches Landesmuseum in Bonn under Klaus Honnef , she held a teaching position at the Art History Institute in Münster. In 1991 Gail B. Kirkpatrick took over the management of the municipal exhibition hall Am Hawerkamp and then the Kunsthalle Münster .

Kirkpatrick curated solo exhibitions by Simon Starling , Joëlle Tuerlinckx , Markus Schinwald , Ugo Rondinone , Monika Baer , Phil Collins , Laura Owens , Little Warsaw , Ann Veronica Janssens , Olaf Nicolai , Mike Nelson , Diango Hernández , among others .
