Gajane Chiloyan

Gayane Tschilojan ( Armenian Գայանե Չիլոյան at World Athletics Gayane Chiloyan * 27. September 2000 in Yerevan ) is an Armenian athlete that on the Sprint specializes. With a height of 1.64 m, her competition weight at the 2016 Olympic Games was 54 kg.

Gajane Chiloyan started ballet at the age of nine , which she did not like. At the age of ten she started to train for athletics at the suggestion of her aunt.

At the 2015 Armenian Championships in Artaschat , she ran an Armenian record in the 100-meter run of 11.54 s on May 28 . The next day she ran another Armenian record in the 200-meter run with 23.16 s, with which she qualified for the Olympic Games (the Olympic norm was 23.20 s).

At the 1st European Youth Championships in Tbilisi in July 2016 , she won the first run with 24.30 s and reached sixth place in the final with another 24.30 s. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August of the same year , she started as a 15-year-old, making her the youngest Armenian participant in the Olympic Games. She retired there in the 200-meter run with 25.03 s in the first run. At the U18 World Athletics Championships in Nairobi in 2017 , she was first in the first heat of the 200-meter run with 24.64 s and finished eighth in the final with 24.64 s. She won gold medals at the U20 Balkaniaden in Istanbul : in 2017 with 12.28 s in the 100-meter run and in 2018 in the 400-meter run with a time of 55.56 s.
