history

The opening of the gallery on Tiergartenstrasse in 1967 was titled “Art of the 20th Century. Graphics - Images - Sculpture. ”In addition to paintings, the gallery also showed graphics, drawings and sculptures, in changing exhibitions, alongside prints and other contemporary visual art, in particular works by New Objectivity artists such as Erich Wegner . In a joint review with the Dresden art exhibition in the mid-1990s, the gallery recalled the work of Grethe Jürgens , Ernst Thoms and Berthold Hellingrath , Rudolf Schramm-Zittau , Hans Körnig , Gerhard Altenbourg , Hans Jüchser and others.

In 1996, Kühl dedicated an exhibition to the artist Carl Wiederhold .

Similar to Galerie Brusberg , Galerie Kühl also represented the artist WP Eberhard Eggers .

At the Frankfurt Book Fair , Kühl represented both his own and, as a representative, the JH Bauer gallery from Burgstrasse 25 in Hanover.
