Galga is a river in northern Hungary . It is one of the right tributaries of the Zagyva .

course

The source of the river is located about two kilometers northwest of Becske municipality in Balassagyarmat county in the southern part of Nógrád county . It initially runs in a southerly direction past the municipalities of Nógrádkövesd, Galgaguta, Acsa, Püspökhatvan and Galgagyörk. In Galgamácsa the direction of flow changes to the southeast. The river moves between the municipalities of Iklad and Domony and then passes south of the city of Aszód . It then flows north of the municipalities of Hévízgyörk , Galgahévíz and Tura and flows into the Zagyva one kilometer south of the town of Jászfényszaru. Thus it is located in three counties of Hungary: Nógrád county, Pest county and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county .

The river has a length of about 65 kilometers.
