The series follows the personal and professional lives of members of an inter-agency gang task force in the Los Angeles Police Department. Among them is a member who has personal connections to one of those criminal gangs. After the death of his parents, he was raised by them, the Acostas, as one of their own and now smuggled into the police. He is not only supposed to guarantee them protection, but is also forced to get involved in a life as a cop and a criminal at the same time.
