Gweedore ( English ; but officially and Irish : Gaoth Dobhair [ g ɰ iː d̪ɔːɾʲ ], German " estuary [of the river] Dobhar") is a town and an administrative district in County Donegal, Ireland . Gweedore is located 50 kilometers north of the city of Donegal and 50 kilometers west of the Northern Irish city of Derry in a Gaeltacht region and is officially the largest Irish-speaking community in Ireland with around 5000 inhabitants (as of 2006).
The Mount Errigal , with 749 meters the highest mountain in County Donegal, is located in the district of Gweedore.
