Guard regiment
A guard regiment is a military unit that belongs to the guard and therefore has a special relationship with the head of state. In contrast to this, the other regiments, which do not belong to the guard but to the so-called "line", are called line regiments .
A regiment in the infantry usually consists of several battalions .
