Gary Taylor-Fletcher (born June 4, 1981 in Liverpool ) is an English football player .

Career

After Gary Taylor-Fletcher acted rather average in his first positions between 1999 and 2003, his move to Lincoln City FC in August 2003 proved to be trend-setting. His new club from Lincoln was playing in the fourth-rate Football League Third Division at this time . Also thanks to his 16 goals, Lincoln City reached the play-offs , but failed there and thus missed promotion to the third division. Also in the 2004/05 season, his team was able to establish itself in the top third of the table and ended the regular season in sixth place. After his team was able to prevail in the first round of the play-offs, it set in the final a defeat against Southend United . With that, City again missed promotion to the third division.

Then Taylor-Fletcher moved to Huddersfield Town in June 2005 . His new club acted in the 2005/06 season in the third-rate Football League One and reached fourth place in the table at the end of the season. For the third time in a row, Taylor-Fletcher (43 games / 10 goals) failed in the play-offs and thus missed promotion to the second division. After a mixed 2006/07 season, he moved to Blackpool FC in June 2007 .

Blackpool FC

His new club had returned to the second-highest English division for the first time since 1978. The climber finished 19th in the 2007/08 Football League Championship at the end of the season and thus secured relegation with Taylor-Fletcher (42 games / 6 goals). Also in the 2008/09 season , Blackpool FC was busy avoiding relegation, which succeeded again with table rank 16. The season in the Football League Championship 2009/10 turned out to be a great success story for the club. After the end of the regular season, the club finished sixth in the table, which qualified for participation in the play-offs . There Blackpool defeated Nottingham Forest, third in the table, in the first round with 2: 1 and 4: 3. The final at Wembley was followed by a 3-2 win against fourth-placed Cardiff City and the much-acclaimed promotion to the Premier League . With that, Blackpool FC returned to the top English division for the first time since the 1970/71 season . Gary Taylor-Fletcher (32 games / 6 goals) scored the 2-2 equalizer in the final.

Also in the Premier League 2010/11 , Blackpool FC was able to successfully contest the first half of the season and surprisingly distance themselves from the relegation places. Gary Taylor-Fletcher scored four goals in his first 19 first division games.

Leicester City

On September 20, 2013, Taylor-Fletcher moved to Leicester City and signed a one-year contract. This was extended for another year, but it was awarded to both Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall FC during the 2014/15 season . After the contract expired, it was not extended. In October 2015 he joined the fifth division team Tranmere Rovers , where he stayed until the end of the season.
