Gate of Dreams is an album by the German-American composer Claus Ogerman , released in 1977 on Warner Records . The music combines elements of classical music , jazz and film music .

Emergence

The music was originally written for a ballet called Some Times for a jazz group and large orchestra. The premiere took place on July 14, 1972 in the New York State Theater (now the David H. Koch Theater) in Lincoln Center , the American Ballet Theater danced , the choreography was by Dennis Nahat.

reception

Wes Mitchell gave the album five stars on Allmusic and called it "one of those rare treasures" that will stand the test of time. In his opinion, the best composition is Time Passed Autumn .
