The Gauliga Baden 1937/38 was the fifth season of the Gauliga Baden in football . It began on September 12, 1937 and ended on March 27, 1938. The championship was decided on the last day of the game with a "final" when the tied teams of VfR Mannheim and 1. FC Pforzheim met . The VfR won the game in front of 19,000 spectators in the home stadium at the breweries 1-0, replacing city rivals SV Waldhof as champions. In the subsequent final round of the German championship , the VfR narrowly missed the semi-finals. The move into the district class had to go to the newly promoted Kehler FV and Germania Brötzingen , who finished in the last two places at the end of the season.
