Mountain landing pad

An unpaved take-off and landing site over 1100  m above sea level is used as a mountain landing site in Switzerland . M. designated. Any landing more than 1100  m outside of these places is prohibited. A mountain landing site is - in contrast to Altiports - places in the Alps without any infrastructure, on which landing and take-off can be carried out like at airfields.

Mountain landing sites are used on the one hand for training and practice purposes, on the other hand for passenger transport for tourist purposes and for heli-skiing . In order to be allowed to use a mountain airfield, the pilot must have completed special training and passed a corresponding examination. Most of the mountain landing sites are on glaciers; H. they can only be approached year-round by machines equipped with ski runners and, depending on the weather, have poor visibility. Depending on their condition, the landing areas are approved for helicopters and / or fixed-wing aircraft.

According to the Aviation Infrastructure Sectoral Plan issued by the Federal Office of Civil Aviation , there are currently (as of October 2019) the following 40 mountain landing sites :
