The Geigerskopf in the Ortenaukreis is 436.2 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the northern Black Forest . It stands in the area of Bottenau and with its ridge separates the Hesselbach valley from the foothills of the Rhine valley .
Geigerskopfturm
The 20 m high Geigerskopf tower of the Oberkirch local group of the Black Forest Association stands on the Geigerskopf . The observation tower is made of metal and painted in rainbow colors. On July 18, 2000, the observation tower on the Geigerskopf was inaugurated. From the tower you have a view of the Rhine valley and, in good weather, as far as the opposite Vosges .
As early as 1884 there was a three-meter-high observation tower at the same place, which was replaced by a wooden tower in 1896. In 1909 a 14 m high steel tower was built, which existed until 1999.
