Natural allocation

The name Gemünden-Zeitlofser Wald was defined  as a natural area in 1968 within the framework of the natural spatial structure ( M = 1: 200,000) and assigned as follows:

Location and limits

The natural area is the westernmost part of the southern Rhön . He is from the Spessart in the West only through the narrow sense , then to the mouth of the Franconian Saale by the sense defined. In addition, a large part of the fauna-flora habitat Einertsberg, Schondraberg and neighboring forests are located in the area.
