The municipality Gogolin (Polish Gogolin ) is a town and rural municipality in the powiat Krapkowicki (Krappitz district) in the Opole Voivodeship . The parish seat is Gogolin . The community is bilingual, German and Polish.

In 2002 the community had 12,336 inhabitants. In addition to the Polish population, 2097 people (16.9%) gave German nationality (ethnicity) and 1066 people Silesian (8.6%) in the 2002 census. In the 2011 census, with a total population of 12467 people, the percentage of Germans was 19.7% or 2451 people.

mayor

The mayor is at the head of the municipal administration . Since 2006 this has been Joachim Wojtala. The regular election in October 2018 led to the following result.

  • Joachim Wojtala (Election Committee Joachim Wojtala) 74.0% of the vote
  • Piotr Szymała (Maciej Sonik Election Committee) 24.0% of the vote

Wojtala was re-elected as mayor in the first ballot.

City council

The city council consists of 15 members and is directly elected in single-person constituencies. The 2018 city council election led to the following result:
