The municipality of Klein Strehlitz (Polish: Gmina Strzeleczki ) is a rural municipality in the powiat Krapkowicki (Krappitz district) in the Opole Voivodeship . The community seat is the village of Klein Strehlitz . The community is bilingual, German and Polish.
geography
The municipality has an area of 117.26 km², 58% of which is agricultural land and 34% is forest. The municipality takes up 26.51% of the area of the district.
The rural community of Klein Strehlitz (gmina wiejska Strzeleczki) covers an area of 117.26 km² with around 7,400 inhabitants.
politics
Community leader
The head of the municipal administration is the municipality leader . Since 2014 this has been Marek Pietruszka. The regular election in October 2018 led to the following result.
- Marek Pietruszka (independent) 68.2% of the vote
- Zygmunt Knura (independent) 31.8% of the vote
Pietruszka was re-elected as community leader in the first ballot.
Municipal council
The municipal council consists of 15 members and is directly elected in single-person constituencies. The 2018 municipal council election led to the following result:
- Independent electoral committee 51.9% of the vote, 9 seats
- Election committee German minority 44.3% of the votes, 6 seats
- Election committee “Together for the citizen” 3.8% of the vote, no seat
coat of arms
A green, stylized, rooted fir tree in red, the trunk of which is covered with a golden arrow rising diagonally to the right and accompanied by two golden stars.
The coat of arms probably goes back to the barons of Promnitz-Pless, who could have owned the place before the Proskowsky von Proskau and whose family coat of arms shows an inclined arrow and two stars.
The municipal coat of arms used today corresponds to the drawing by the heraldist Otto Hupp from 1898.
Partner municipality
A community partnership has existed between the community of Klein Strehlitz and the Verbandsgemeinde Bitburg-Land in Germany since 1997.

Attractions
On the territory of the municipality is the 1900's by the Silesian industrialist Franz Hubert von Tiele-Winckler built castle Moschen 's family Tiele-Winckler , which is used as a sanatorium and today is a popular tourist destination in the region. The building, which was built on the ruins of a burned down baroque palace, is in the style of historicism with echoes of neo-Gothic , Tudor style and neo-Renaissance , and has a park of around 100 hectares. The complex is one of the most important castles in the Opole region and all of Silesia.
There is also a rhododendron park (also in Moschen) and the ruins of Dobrau Castle (Dobra). There is a Dutch windmill in Lobkowitz (Łowkowice) .
population
In 2002 the community had 8,224 inhabitants. In addition to the Polish population, 3494 people (42.5%) stated German nationality (ethnicity) and 1067 people said Silesian (13.0%) in the 2002 census. In the 2011 census, with a total population of 7574 people, the percentage of Germans was 32.9% or 2490 people.
