Zellin (Polish: Zielina ) is a town in Upper Silesia . Zellin is located in the municipality of Klein Strehlitz ( Strzeleczki ) in the powiat Krapkowicki (Krappitz district) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Zellin is five kilometers southwest of the township seat Klein Strehlitz , eleven kilometers west of the district town Krapkowice (Krappitz) and 27 kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Opole (Opole).

history
The place was first mentioned in 1743 as Zellin . At first the hamlet of Zellin belonged to the village of Kujau. In the 18th century the place was owned by Count Schaffgotsch . Before 1945, Zellin was owned by Claus von Tiele-Winckler .
In October 1896, Zellin received a railway connection with the Neustadt-Gogoliner Railway.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 377 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 139 for Poland. Zellin remained with the German Empire . On April 1, 1939 the parishes of Kujau and Zellin were merged to form the new parish of Zellin. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Neustadt OS
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration, was attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed Zielina on November 16, 1946 . In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to Powiat Krapkowicki . On May 17, 2006 , German was introduced as the second official language in the Klein Strehlitz community to which Zellin belongs. On November 24, 2008 the place was also given the official German place name Zellin .
