Lobkowitz (Polish: Łowkowice ) is a village in Upper Silesia . Lobkowitz is located in the municipality of Klein Strehlitz ( Strzeleczki ) in the Powiat Krapkowicki (Krappitz district) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

history

The place was founded in the 13th century under German law and first mentioned in 1218 as Lofcovici . In 1534 it was mentioned as Lowkowitz. In 1561 the place came into the possession of the von Oppersdorf family.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 475 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 31 for Poland. Lobkowitz remained with the German Empire . On July 21, 1936, the place was renamed Jägershausen OS . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Neustadt OS

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Łowkowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to Powiat Krapkowicki . On May 17, 2006, German was introduced as the second official language in the municipality of Klein Strehlitz, which Lobkowitz belongs to. On November 24, 2008, the place was also given the official German place name Lobkowitz .
