A chapel in Sakrau

Sakrau , Polish Zakrzów , is a village in Upper Silesia . Sakrau is located in the municipality of Gogolin in the powiat Krapkowicki in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1398 as Zackraw .

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 53 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 101 for Poland; In the manor district, 120 voted for Germany and 90 for Poland. Sakrau remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 668 inhabitants. In 1939 the place had 685 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Groß Strehlitz .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Zakrzów and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship and in 1999 to the powiat Krapkowicki . On April 30, 2010, the place was also given the official German place name Sakrau .
