Oderwanz , in Polish Odrowąż , is a village in Upper Silesia . Oderwanz is located in the municipality of Gogolin in the powiat Krapkowicki (district of Krappitz) in the Polish Voivodeship of Opole .

Oderwanz is located six kilometers west of Gogolin , four kilometers north of the district town of Krapkowice (Krappitz) and 19 kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Opole .
Oderwanz lies on the Oder . The A4 motorway runs north of Oderwanz .

history
The Oderwanz colony was founded in 1776 with 17 houses. She came in 1817 from the Opole district to the Groß Strehlitz district. The church was consecrated in 1841. In 1845 24 houses and 163 inhabitants were counted.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 123 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 55 for Poland. Oderwanz remained with the German Empire . In 1933 376 inhabitants lived here, in 1939 there were 428 inhabitants. On July 3, 1936, the place was renamed Oderhöh and was located in the district of Groß Strehlitz until 1945 .
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Odrowąż and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship , 1999 to the powiat Krapkowicki . On April 30, 2010 the official German place name Oderwanz was added.
