The Gamspleisspitze , also Gemspleisspitze , Rhaeto-Romanic in the idiom Vallader Paraid Naira ( black wall ), is a 3015 m high peak in the Silvretta group of the Central Eastern Alps.
According to the official national map of Switzerland , Gemspleisspitze is the name of the main summit, Paraid Naira in the real sense that of the 2889 m high secondary summit to the south .
Location and landscape
The summit is located between the North Tyrolean Paznaun and Graubünden Lower Engadine . He is in the crest of the escape Hornes ( 3398 meters south), the Larainkamm the Ostsilvretta that the Fimbatal (Val Fenga) from the more western Lareintal separates, ie, on the Austrian side of the Silvretta. The upper Fimbatal has belonged to the Engadin from time immemorial, so the summit forms the border between Ischgl , the Landeck district of Tyrol and Valsot , the Ramosch district of the Canton of Graubünden , and the Austrian-Swiss national border .
The summit is a well-designed rock pyramid.
To the south, the Gamspleissattel ( 2730 m ) separates the mountain from the Hohen Kogel ( 2817 m ). The jagged ridge runs north over the Bidnerscharte ( 2733 m ) to the Bidnerspitze ( 2871 m ).
History and Development
The name comes from the chamois and the old word bleise 'steep slope' or ' grass slope', which is common around here. Older spellings are Gemsbleis -spitze or Gemsblaisspitz (m). Paraid is Romansh 'wall, wall', naira means 'black'.
The mountain was first climbed on July 13, 1849 by Johann Wilhelm Coaz , a Swiss forest engineer and mountain topographer, as part of the measurements for the Dufour map.
The mountain is usually climbed from the Ritzenjoch (Fuorcla Larein, 2686 m ) south of the Hohen Kogel and along the Lareingrat. Valley locations are Ischgl and Mathon (Larein Valley ), and in particular the Heidelberger Hut in Fimber Valley.
