Genaro Estrada Félix (born June 2, 1887 in Mazatlán , Sinaloa , † September 29, 1937 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican historian and ambassador .

Life

Estrada was an editor of El Monitor Sinaloense and the Diario del Pacífico . 1911 reported from Morelos on the rebellion led by Emiliano Zapata . In 1912 he moved to Mexico City, where he headed the editorial department of El Diario and founded the magazine Argos with Enrique González Martínez . In 1913 he became a teacher at the Escuela Nacional Preparatoria (Mexico) and wrote Genaro García (1867-1920), on an extensive history of Mexico.

At the end of 1917, Alberto J. Pani appointed him head of public relations at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. When Alberto J. Pani became Foreign Minister in 1921 , he appointed Genaro Estrada Félix to head the Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1927 Genaro Estrada Félix became State Secretary and from 1930 to 1932 head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On January 20, 1934, he reported to the Foreign Ministry that he had not presented his letter of accreditation in Lisbon because it had not been signed by the incumbent President.

Writing

He later became a professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico National Autonomous University of Mexico and founder of the Academia Mexicana de la Historia . He was a corresponding member of the Mexican Academy of Language and a founding member of the Academy of Mexican History, which he chaired from 1917 to December 1937. He has also published a novel, Pero Galín (1926), and four books on poetry and political satire. As a delegate to the League of Nations, he presented the Doctrina Estrada in September 1930.
