General Inspectorate of Military Education and Training

The General Inspectorate of Military Education was a military authority of the Prussian Army .

history

The general inspection was formed by AKO on December 26, 1819 in Berlin . She was initially the top management of the General War School , the Cadet Corps and the Presidium of the Military Study Commission. Through AKO of June 13, 1825, the General Inspectorate was given the overall supervision of the division schools , the United Artillery and Engineering School and, in 1837, the presidium of the Higher Military Examination Commission .

With the increase in war schools, the newly created War School Inspectorate came between the General Inspection and the War Schools on January 1, 1875 . On November 21, 1872, the War Academy and on January 5, 1882 the United Artillery and Engineering School left the command area of ​​the General Inspection.

In 1914 the general inspection was subordinate to:

  • the military technical academy ,
  • the senior military examination commission,
  • the inspection of war schools and
  • the command of the cadet corps

The general inspection was headed by an inspector general, who from May 3, 1878 had the rank and duties of a commanding general .
