Georg Büttel

Georg Büttel (born February 13, 1969 in Garmisch ) is a German director and author .

Live and act

Georg Büttel studied philosophy and English at the LMU, Munich, and dramaturgy at the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding, Munich.

Since 1992 Büttel has also worked as an actor and cabaret artist. a. in “ Jörg Maurers Unterton”, Munich, and for the open-air theater in Schwäbisch Hall . Since 1994 he has been a copywriter and dramaturgical advisor for magicians (including Gaston Florin, Thomas Fraps, Pit Hartling and Ken Bardowicks ); since 1998 author for Bavarian television (including from 1999 to 2010 for the magazine "quer", moderation: Christoph Süß , various cabaret formats, gala events and the series "Lansing Files", which he also directed in 2017 together with Jochen Müller); also since 1998 artistic director of the Murnau Horváth Days; from 2003 to 2016 he was artistic director of KULTurSOMMER Garmisch-Partenkirchen . He also works as a coach for stage artists and executives. Since September 2018 he has been Head of Script for the series "Dahoam is Dahoam" on behalf of Constantin Television GmbH.

Georg Büttel is the second chairman of the Ödön-von-Horváth-Gesellschaft, artistic advisory board of the Ödön-von-Horváth-Stiftung and first chairman of the Fantastic Society, which is dedicated to the life and work of the writer Michael Ende and to fantastic art.
